Ford-Iroquois Public Health Department
expands home health services to include
speech therapy. Other services include
skilled nursing, physical therapy,
occupational therapy and home health aide

The
News-Gazette, Champaign, buys Paxton Record
and Loda Times. Tentative take
over date is August 1st. New offices
will be located at 208 N Market St, next
door south of the old Paxton Printing
building. Last month The Paxton Daily Record
ceased publishing daily and became a weekly
publication. David Hinton, former Record
employee for 28 years, will be managing
editor.

Paxton featured on WCIA Morning Show "Catch
Ketchmark." Viewers had to guess
from what town reporter Jennifer Ketchmark
was broadcasting. The winner was Debbie
Fillenwarth of Champaign. She received
Chamber merchants gift certificate, free
Family Pleaser from Monical's, copies of two
books from local authors Donna & Pat DeMuth, and
copies of PRIDE's Community Directory &
PRIDE's Historic Homes Brochure.
Scholarship bequest honors former attorney
Sidney Dilks. A $50,000
donation from Stephen Dilks to Knox College
in Galesburg will create a scholarship fund
in the name of his father, Sidney Dilks, now
deceased, who practiced law in Paxton for
over 60 years and also served as Ford County
States Attorney.
Shear Styling Salon adds two to staff.
Dani Roberts and Stevi Fox.
Both are graduates of Concept College of
Cosmotology. They are offering 10% off
their services now through August 10, 2007.

City raises permit fees at Monday night's
city council meeting.
Various charges have not been raised since
1988.

agreed to buy camera systems for police
department interview room.
Amanda Woods hire as new city patrol
officer. She is believed to
be the first female police officer in
Paxton. Woods, originally from
Buckley, moved to Paxton recently from
Virginia where she obtained an
associates degree in criminal justice.

Matthew Fitton announces bid for Ford Co.
State's Attorney. A Paxton
resident, Fitton currently serves as senior
assistant public defender in Champaign
County Public Defender's Office.
Current State's Attorney Tony Lee has
indicated to some area persons that he will
not be seeking re-election.

Athletic Booster Club raises $11,500
for PBL athletics at annual golf outing held
at Lakeview Country Club.14 teams of golfers
participated.
