Courthouse renovations complete.
After all bills were paid, $25,000 was left from
bonds that were sold. The County Board has yet
to determine how the remaining balance will be
used. The renovations began in 2005 and included
interior redecorating and replacement of the
exterior copper dome.
Ford
County Historical Society Museum will
have a sneak preview opening on July 4th from
1-4 pm. The museum is housed at the historic
water tower and pumphouse that was completely
renovated by the Paxton Foundation, a
not-for-profit group dedicated to preserving
local historical sites.

Paxton
Record ends daily publication.
Friday, June 22, 2007 will be the last issue of
a daily newspaper in Paxton. Beginning next
Wednesday, THE PAXTON RECORD will only publish a
weekly version of the newspaper.
City
Council postpones decision on Raffle House until
August. The council is looking
into allegations from a local resident that the
business is operating illegally. Attorney Robert
Martensen is looking into the matter.

Paxton
home awarded historic status.

Hampton property located at 511
W Pells has been named to the National Register
of Historic Homes. A celebration will be held at
the property on June 24 from 2-5pm and will
include an ice cream social and barbershop
quartet performance. The property is also
included in PRIDE's
Historic Homes Walking Tour.
Paxton
resident questions legality of Raffle House.
Scott Stocking has registered a complaint with
the State Attorney General's Office citing
non-compliance of the newly opened Raffle House
to State laws governing those establishments.
City Council is also looking into the matter.

of Education for funding three small grant
projects. $990.69 was awarded to Katrina Tammen
to provide enrichment class targeting 6th grade
students who are functioning in lower 20% of
their class. $1,000. awarded to Elizabeth Nuss
for grades 5-12 & is part of a matching grant in
conjunction with Illinois Arts Council to
provide PBL Band students with master classes on
musical instrument performance. $$1000 award to
PBL Early Childhood Team for pre-school-5th
garde students to support a Parent/Teacher
Autism Resource Center at Clara Peterson
Elementary School.

Hudson's Drug & Hallmark Shop on Fri, June 8,
11-2 &4-6 and on Sat, June 9 from 10-2. Their
third book
BACKYARD BONES has just been published.
